There was this flavor that I’ve come to miss
The taste of apples on a plate served with bliss
The flavor that came with the look on your eyes

that I never thought I’d have to wish¬†goodbye

The taste of sweetness when you text me goodnight
The taste of happiness when I feel you’re mine
The taste of your love every time you are near
But all those tastes are no longer here

After they all settle down
The aftertaste comes as my heart pounds
I count slowly from one to ten
And as I hit the last number, you’re gone again

I still remember the first taste I got
Of that happiness I was craving a lot
Too bad that first time was also my last
I guess some things just remain in the past
